What’s so wrong with ageing?

I remember turning 27 so well.  It seemed as if 30 was hurtling towards me and I got seriously depressed about it – for a full 3 years.  It seemed so old!  I now look back at that time and think how absolutely ridiculous that was.  But I suppose it did make subsequent big birthdays a doddle. There are few certainties in life, but that we are going to age is definitely one of them.  However I don’t understand why, in modern Western culture, it seems to be something to be a little ashamed of and even joked about?  Continue reading “What’s so wrong with ageing?”
